This will be a queen size quilt for a Christmas gift.All along as I pieced the 72 squares for this quilt, I have been planning on setting them together in a zig zag pattern. I laid out some of the squares today, both with the black center stripes making a zig zag and with the black center stripes making X's.
I am not sure which I prefer, so which do you like best.

ReplyDeleteIts hard to decide, but I think I like the x pattern the best. I've made this same pattern before and I remember having the same question. The colors are very pretty and you've done a great job and a lot of work. As you can tell from my last post, I'm in the mood to start quilting again.

Rhonda - both are beautiful, but I prefer the X pattern. It allows the eye to focus on a central theme instead of the zig zag. Let us know which one you decided on to make!
ReplyDeleteI don't quilt or sew so when I saw the picture I chose the X pattern, and I thought I'd be the only one (because, after all, what do I know about quilting?). So, hey, I guess I am with the majority....whohooooo! They are both beautiful, BTW!
