The Dollar Tree in my town started selling bread about a month or so ago. I had one appointment today and then all I needed was bread, so I stopped at DT to make it quick. I was very pleased to find this Natures Own organic high fiber bread for just $1 a loaf. I am sure similar bread at Wal-mart and other supermarkets sells for over $3 a loaf.
And believe it or not, all I bought was this bread.
Then I came home and had some of that bread made into a peanut butter and red plum jam sandwich with an apple. Yum!

That's a terrific bargain you snagged! I love Dollar Tree because you never know what you will find. I had stopped visiting but will try to visit at least once a month now. My dh would love the bread.
ReplyDeleteGreat find, Rhonda! I don't have a Dollar Tree conveniently located, but I'm going to keep an eye out for one. I usually get my bread at the Mrs. Baird's Thrift Store. If you shop certain days, you get double punches on your card towards free items. I usually get a full card about every 6 weeks, and the bread is $1.19 a loaf, but your deal is better!
ReplyDeletewow you did really good if you went into dollar tree and only bought one thing!lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a deal! And, I, too am impressed that the bread was all you bought. What will power!
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a dollar store that sold brand name breads for $1 and we always bought our bread there and it was always fresh. Sadly they ended up closing the store. Our Dollar Tree doesn't sell bread. :(
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE the Dollar Store! I have found so many useful things...but I have never seen bread there. I'm definitely going to have to check this out.
ReplyDeleteKings Daughter,
ReplyDeleteI do shop at our bread store but they don't offer a punch card.
About Dollar Tree, their stock is very sporadic, they had no bread at all today.
Jimmy lives in Oklahoma City near a big Dollar Tree and he says it never sells bread either.
I think if I come across that same organic bread, I will buy several loaves and freeze them. They are double wrapped and should hold up fine to freezing.
