"tasty lentil tacos" Really!

I tried a new recipe last night, tasty lentil tacos from All Recipes.com.
We eat meat most every night but I get tired of meat and want to try to few more meat-free dinner recipes. We liked these lentil tacos alot.
They are very easy and quick - less than 40 minutes from start to eating ready - and cheap.
The recipe says it will fill 12 taco shells, I think it could easily fill 15 or more.
They "taste" just like beef tacos but the texture is different than beef and may not please everyone though.
So if you are not eating meat for religous, social, economic, health or personal taste, this might be a recipe you will like too. We will be having them again.

  1. We don't eat meat every night either. For no other reason really than that we are big vegetable eaters as I just mentioned in my last comment. I love eating salads in the summertime. Your tacos look fabulous.

  2. This recipe looks yummy! Lentils have the third-highest level of protein, by weight, of any plant-based food. What a healthy alternative to meat as a protein source without the fat.

  5. I am just not that fond of meat period. I love to find tv dinners without meat in them. I usually get those Healthy Choice All Naturals. Wish you could come cook for me!

  6. What good idea! I'll have a look at that recipe. We try to have one meatless meal a week but I'd like to stretch it into at least two if I can find some good recipes. Thank you!

  7. I'm going to be trying this recipe. I'm not much of a meat eater & it's difficult planning dinners around 3 guys (hubby, sons ages 18 & 21) who love meat. I'm hoping they'll like these, too!

  9. Thank you! I'm always looking for new vegetarian recipes. Need to cut back on animal protein in this house due to my husband's kidney disease.
