A year of savings Day 3

I first discovered blogs about a year ago. Naive me thought they were just a way for bloggers to express their feelings and entertainment for the readers. I have since learned that blogging can be big business. Some bloggers are earning 6 and 7 figure incomes with their blogs.
There are lots of blogs I visit but I have 3 very favorite blogs, 2 of them do not use any kind of income generating advertising but 1 of them does. I have been thinking about this for several months and signed up yesterday with Google Adsense.
So far, I have earned $1.65 in just one day. It does not sound like much for one day but it could certainly multiply over a course of a year.
I am dipping my toes into blogging income, I hope it goes well but if the ads become a problem, I will discontinue them immediately.
Terri asked how to do this. I just went to the Google.Adsense.com site and followed their instructions. Because of the income, I did have to fill out an online IRS W-9 form with my SS number. There are different payment options but I requested to have a check mailed to me so I did not have to enter any personal banking information. They don't pay until you earn at least $100.

  1. I've seen these for awhile on blogs and never knew how to do it. Thanks! I'm going to give it a try too.

  2. I'm intrigued. This sounds like something I'd like to use on my site. How do I sign up? Did you have to share your bank account info with them or set it up another way, say through a paypal account? Tell me more, please.

  4. I'm envious! I tried the Google AdSense and made about 10 cents in a month. I got rid of it. Wow, I don't understand it. $1.65 in one day is really good!!! You are right about the small amounts adding up. $1.65 a day will add up quickly. You go girl!!!

I finally sold something on Ebay and sold 2 books on Amazon this week!!!
